Rep. Becca Balint (VT-AL) released the following statement on HR. 8035: 

“It’s long past time the United States showed robust support for our democratic ally, Ukraine. Sustaining Ukraine's effort to maintain its independence is so critical to the health of our global democracy. I’m proud to vote to send over $60 billion in aid to support Ukraine in its fight to defeat Putin.” 

“Our NATO allies have been watching closely. It’s clear that if the United States does not stand with Ukraine and beat back Putin’s advances, he will not stop with Ukraine. A Russian victory in Ukraine signals to our allies that we are untrustworthy, and they must seek other alliances to protect themselves.

“Pro-Putin extremists in Congress have delayed this vote and want to see Russia win. Finally, Congress is providing decisive aid to defend democracy and freedom in Ukraine.”
