Rep. Becca Balint released the following statement ahead of a House vote on H.Res. 883:

“Extremists on both sides of this conflict, including in the Netanyahu government, have co-opted the phrase “from the river to the sea” to assert a one-sided claim to this land. But let’s be clear, everyone - Israelis, Palestinians - belongs to this land and suggestions that any group should be eradicated from the region are abhorrent. 

“If Republicans wanted to truly address the quickly escalating crisis in the region, they would bring substantive bills to the floor and get immediate aid to Gaza and Ukraine.

“This resolution is yet another way to sow division and demonize Palestinians. I’m voting no.”
