Rep. Becca Balint Named to Two Oversight Subcommittees

Washington, DC - Rep. Becca Balint (VT-00) announces membership to two Oversight Subcommittees: Healthcare and Financial Services and Government Operations and the Federal Workforce.

The Subcommittee on Healthcare and Financial Services has jurisdiction over federal health care policy, food and drug safety, federal entitlement programs, monetary policy, banking, infrastructure, tax policy, and oversight and legislative jurisdiction over the Office of National Drug Control Policy. Katie Porter is the Ranking Member of the subcommittee.

The Subcommittee on Government Operations and Federal Workforce has jurisdiction over the federal civil service, federal and state government relations, public information and records, and other federal services such as the US Postal Service. Kweisi Mfume is the Ranking Member of the subcommittee.

“I look forward to serving on these two impactful subcommittees to deliver efficient government for Vermonters and working families across the country. Oversight over federal entitlement programs including housing assistance is critical to ensuring these programs work for American families who depend on them,” said Rep. Balint. “A seat on the Government Operation and Federal Workforce Subcommittee allows me to prioritize high-quality, adequately funded mail service through the United States Postal Service because Americans deserve reliable and efficient federal government agencies. I’m proud to join my colleagues in bringing fact and reason to these subcommittees.”
